Rule 136
Children's Allowance and Educational Allowance
: (1) If a police officer is disabled for life under the circumstances of rule 134, maximum two children of such disabled police officer shall be given monthly children's allowance at the following rate:-
(a) Gazetted Police Officer – Rupees two hundred and sixty (b) Gazetted First and Second Class Police – One Hundred and Twenty Four Rupees
(c) Gazetted third and fourth class policemen – one hundred and sixteen rupees
(d) Police office assistant or equivalent – one hundred and twelve rupees
(2) In the event of the death of a police officer under Rule 135, a maximum of two descendants of such deceased police officer shall be given a monthly stipend at the following percentage of the starting salary scale of the post held by the deceased police employee:- Percentage of the starting salary
(a) Inspector General of Police or Additional Inspector General of Police – 6.5
(b) Deputy Inspector General of Police or Senior Superintendent of Police – 8
(c) Superintendent of Police or Deputy Superintendent of Police – 9
(d) Inspector of Police – 10
(e) Senior Deputy Inspector of Police or Deputy Inspector of Police – 12
(f) Sub-Inspector of Police – 13
(g) Senior Constable of Police, Constable of Police, Assistant Constable of Police, Constable of Police or Assistant Police Office – 14
(3) In the case of a son or unmarried daughter, the inheritance under sub-rule (1) shall be received up to the date of attaining the age of twenty-one years or entering the government service, whichever is earlier, and the inheritance under sub-rule (2) shall be received up to the age of eighteen years.
(4) If a police employee becomes disabled or dies in accordance with rule 134 or 135, maximum two children of such disabled or deceased police employee will be given an annual educational allowance at the following rate in addition to the stipend as per sub-rule (1) or (2) until they reach the age of eighteen years. :- Post Education
(a) Gazetted Police Officer – Two thousand four hundred rupees (b) Gazetted police and police office assistants or equivalent – one thousand eight hundred rupees (5) The Government of Nepal may arrange for free education in the government universities of Nepal for the deceased police officers or police personnel who are disabled in line of duty as determined by the Government of Nepal.
